What is Supplemental Cancer Insurance?
Supplemental Cancer Insurance, like Precision Care™ is tailored to assist policyholders navigating a cancer diagnosis. It ensures access to innovative treatments not typically covered by other insurances. Precision Care™ connects policyholders with TGen’s top-tier Cancer Physicians and advanced genomic sequencing services, while providing cash to cover the expenses associated with these services and the high costs of today’s specialized cancer treatments.
How does Genome Sequencing work?
Biopsy Stage:
A biopsy is conducted on your tumor, isolating tissue and blood for DNA sequencing in TGen’s advanced laboratories.
Genetic Profile Analysis:
Utilizing cutting-edge equipment, the sequenced genetic profile is examined for abnormalities dictating the tumor’s functions.
Abnormalities Assessment:
The identified abnormalities are thoroughly analyzed to determine if they correspond to known mutations. This exploration may reveal treatment options not previously considered.
Treatment Recommendations:
If a match is identified, healthcare professionals can leverage these findings to propose targeted treatments that have historically demonstrated effectiveness against similar mutations.
Why do I need Supplemental Cancer Insurance from GTL?

There is no requirement of owning any other type of health insurance coverage to purchase GTL's Precision Care policy.
Can I apply for this coverage if I was already diagnosed with cancer?
Unfortunately, coverage is not available if you are currently or recently diagnosed with cancer. However, if you have been in remission for over 5 years without treatment, you may qualify for this coverage.
What is genomic sequencing?
Your genome is the complete set of your DNA. It is your blueprint. It's your personal set of instructions for what makes you unique. Genomic sequencing provides TGen's experts your complete genetic code, which is sorted and studied. Sequencing can be used as a medical tool that unlocks the power of your genome to help create treatment plans that are much more precise and individualized.
Genome sequencing:
- Analyzes a patient's tumor "fingerprint" to see if there are therapies that have worked well before.
- Allows the oncologist to match each patient with the best treatment based upon the underlying biology of your specific cancer.
- Makes medicine more rational, personal, and precise by identifying molecular targets before treating the cancer.
- Identifies whether targeted drugs that support your own immune system's abilities to fight cancer could be beneficial to you.
Is it possible to receive a second lump sum benefit if diagnosed with cancer again?
No, the lump sum cancer benefit amount is only payable once.
What is Cancer In Situ?
Cancer in situ or stage 0 cancer is early stage cancer that is defined as "in place" and which has not spread beyond the tissue type, mucosal layer, lining, duct or cellular layer in which it originated.
Precision Care offers 25% of the lump sum benefit for the in situ diagnosis.
What is considered experimental treatment for the additional 25% lump sum benefit?
Receive an additional benefit of 25 percent of your chosen lump sum amount should you undergo a qualifying experimental treatment that has been approved or endorsed by the US. Food and Drug Administration or the National Institute of Health while being treated for cancer.
Additionally, your Precision Care policy will pay you 25% of your Lump Sum amount should you be diagnosed with Cancer In Situ.
Do I have to do genomic sequencing through TGEN?
We encourage policyholders to use TGEN's benefit but if genomic sequencing is done by another organization, then there is a $6,500 lump sum one time benefit paid to the policyholder.
